Guiding McDermott’s Team on a Journey Within: Exploring the True Essence of Meditation

by admin

Recently, on 25 September 2025, the Raja Yoga Center was invited to facilitate a session for McDermott International, Ltd‘s employees as part of their Thrive_BeAware_BeHealthy_wellness initiative.

It was a privilege to guide their team through a one-hour journey into the true essence of meditation, a practice that is often misunderstood, yet deeply transformative when experienced with clarity.

One of the first things we addressed was a common misconception: Meditation means stopping thoughts!

In reality, meditation is not about shutting the mind down but about improving the quality of our thoughts. It is an inner dialogue, a conversation with the self that nurtures clarity, resilience, and elevation.

We guided participants through different levels of meditation:

Relaxation: slowing the mind and finding calm.
Clarity: learning to release unnecessary thoughts.
Self-Awareness: reconnecting with the inner self.
Radiating Positivity: sending elevated thoughts and goodwill to others.
Connection: experiencing oneness with a higher source of peace.

Each stage included short guided practices, allowing employees to pause, reflect, and truly feel the shift within.

The response was heartwarming.

Participants expressed feeling peaceful, light, joyful, and many described experiencing a rare stillness amidst their busy schedules. Both those who joined in person and the hundreds connected virtually shared how the session gave them practical tools to nurture calmness and balance in daily life.

This reaffirmed something we see time and again: meditation is not just a wellness tool, it is a way to strengthen the inner_core so we can bring clarity and stability into everything we do.

At the Rajayoga_Center, we believe that inner well-being is the foundation for professional excellence and human connection.

Sessions like these show how organizations are taking meaningful steps to support their teams, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.

A big thank you to McDermott for inviting us, and to every participant who opened their minds and hearts to the practice.
