At EcubeTraining, we believe that leadership is best learned not just in classrooms but through immersive experiences that
challenge,
inspire, and
transform.
Recently, Dia Mitra, PCC and I took the leadership team of Sobha Realty on an extraordinary offsite, leadership retreat like no other.
Set on a breathtaking island in AbuDhabi, under the glow of a full moon, this experience was designed to culminate everything we had explored in their leadership development journey; but in a way that was deeply personal, interactive, and unforgettable.
Through kayaking, culinarychallenges, poolbasedteamactivities, LEGOsimulations, and even drumming under the moonlight, the leaders learned to:
Ā šĀ Take initiative and step into leadership moments naturally
Ā šĀ Build stronger connections through collaboration and trust
Ā šĀ Cultivate self-awareness, empathy, and conscious leadership
Ā šĀ Balance ambition with reflection, mindfulness, and fun
Ā šĀ Move beyond a single-minded focus to embrace a holistic leadership approach
This wasnāt just a team-building activity…..
It was a transformational experience where leadership became real, tangible, and applicable in everyday moments.
As we watched these leaders bond, reflect, and grow, we were reminded of a simple truth:
“Leadership isnāt just about driving results; itās about shaping experiences, creating space for connection, and leading with both strength and heart.”
To all organizations out there:
If you truly want to develop leaders who inspire, connect, and elevate others; take them beyond the boardroom. Give them a space to experience leadership in action, and youāll witness growth that lasts a lifetime.

We have all been in situations where we feel compelled to respond, where the noise, the interruptions, or the lack of respect in a room make us want to raise our voices and assert control.
But….
What if, instead of raising our voices, we raised the quality of our words?
Recently, during a training session I was leading, I found myself facing an unusual amount of disturbance. Participants were distracted, conversations overlapped, and even the event sponsors contributed to the disruption. More than once, I felt the urge to intervene sharply and call out the disrespect. But just as I was about to do so, a powerful thought crossed my mind:
āIf you canāt keep your words sweet, keep your words.ā
This simple yet profound idea shifted my entire approach…
Instead of reacting immediately, I chose to wait for the break.
During that time, I approached one of the most disruptive participants for a one-on-one conversation. Instead of simply pointing out the interruptions, I started by acknowledging what they had done well. I sincerely appreciated how some of their contributions had helped others grasp key concepts.
And then, honestly but without harshness, I expressed what had been challenging about their behaviour.
What happened next was remarkable.
?
?
A noticeable shift took place not just in the participantās behavior but in the entire roomās energy. From that moment onward, they were more engaged, more respectful, and more in sync with the session.

Why Words Matter More Than Volume
This experience reinforced something essential:
When frustration builds up, we have two choicesā
- Let emotions take over and speak on our behalf, often with words that may be regrettable.
- Consciously refine our communication, ensuring that our words remain constructive, no matter the situation.
The easiest path is to react, but the most effective path is to reflect.
When we respond with composure and clarity instead of anger, we donāt just manage a situation; we elevate it.
The Power of Raising Words, Not Volume
Harsh words may force compliance, but thoughtful words create commitment. There is a big difference between someone reluctantly cooperating and someone genuinely aligning with your message. True influence does not come from overpowering others but from inspiring them to listen.
If a moment tempts you to respond with frustration, pause and ask:
⢠Am I speaking, or is my emotion speaking for me?
⢠Is my communication being driven by reaction or by intention?
⢠How can I raise my words instead of my volume?
In the end, communication is not just about what we say…
It is about the environment we create!
By choosing words that uplift rather than tear down, we not only enhance our impact but also cultivate a space where respect, collaboration, and meaningful dialogue thrive.
So, the next time you find yourself in a challenging conversation, remember:
If you canāt keep your words sweet, keep your words. Because silence in wisdom is always louder than words spoken in anger.
16. Lately, Iāve been failing!
Not dramatically…but in quiet, personal ways: missed targets, stalled approvals, lost deals.
And every time, the inner critic pipes up: āMaybe youāre just not good enough.ā
A recent one hit hard.
We worked closely with a client for weeks.
Meetings, revisions, full commitment.
Then…
Just like that…they chose someone else!
No explanation.
I was gutted!
But as the dust settled, a better question emerged…
What is this failure trying to teach me?
The answer
?
?
?
That I showed up. I tried. I cared.
And that matters more than the outcome.
Failure, Iāve realised, is feedback.
It’s proof Iām in motion. Not stuck. Not hiding behind comfort zones.
But evolving…boldly, consciously.
So Iāve stopped asking, āHow successful am I?ā
Now I ask, āHow bravely did I fail today?ā
Because failure means Iām doing work that matters.
And that, to me, is the real success!
Thrilled to share our recent collaboration with Beeah, the leading waste management company in Sharjah and a pioneer in several sustainable initiatives that are securing the future of UAE. Our transformative 3-day Sales Accelerator Program, hosted by Ecube Training and Consulting, was designed to align with the companyās vision of sustainability and excellence.
We kicked off with our āCircle of Trust,ā fostering commitment and presence. From building robust sales pipelines to mastering consultative selling, every moment was about empowering sales excellence.
A huge thank you to Tahir Saleem for his glowing testimonial: āThe training reinforced that sales is not just about closing deals itās about fostering trust, driving impact, and aligning our efforts with a greater purpose.ā
As a facilitator of executive excellence, little did I know that I too could be part of a mission to contribute to a sustainable future š
Leadership is not about telling, it is about asking.
It is about creating space for others to think, grow, and step into their own potential.
Recently, I had the privilege of working with the top leaders at Sobha Constructions, guiding them through a transformative session on Leading Others.
The focus?
.
Moving from directive leadership to a coaching-based approachāwhere powerful questions spark reflection, and meaningful conversations unlock growth.
When leaders shift from instruction to inquiry, they donāt just lead; they build future leaders.
They elevate their teams, creating a culture of empowerment, trust, and continuous learning.
And at the heart of it all?
Being deeply aligned with our values, because great leadership starts from within.
The real challenge is not just managing people; it is inspiring them to lead.
And that is the kind of leadership that creates lasting impact.
š I’ve seen relationships go from “You’re the apple of my eye” to “Get lost, I can’t stand your sight!”
š I’ve seen relationships go from “You’re the apple of my eye” to “Get lost, I can’t stand your sight!”
As strange as it may seem, it is a common phenomenon when the level of acceptance is shallow and narrow.
Original Thought:
“You have got to do things the way I like them done, this is how you need to behave, this is okay and this is not⦔ ā this is the mental construct about the other person.
While this can nurture and guide the other (if they are willing), you cannot impose, dictate, or control. When we struggle to impose control over ourselves (think of the last resolution you broke), expecting someone else to conform entirely is unrealistic.
Relationships are about differences.
Appreciate, accept, and learn to work towards objectives with those differences.
Appreciating differences is the key to stronger, more resilient relationships. Are you embracing the differences in yours? š
As we step into a new year, I find myself reflecting on the journey that has brought us here.
š Gratitude
This past year has been a tapestry of moments and memories, stitched together by the incredible people Iāve had the privilege to meet and work with. To each of youāfriends, family, colleagues, students, and even those fleeting connections that left a lasting impact, thank you. You have made the challenges bearable and the victories so much sweeter.
š” Learning
The year was not without its mistakes. I have hurt people I care about, sometimes unintentionally, but I have heard your voices. Your feedback, your care, your honesty, it has been my compass for growth. I am learning, unlearning, and striving to be better. This journey is not perfect, but it is sincere.
š¤ Hope and Benevolence
To those whoāve faced struggles this year, and who have walked through their darkest days, I see you. My heart goes out to you, and I wish for nothing but light and peace to find you. Life can feel heavy, but I hope you discover the strength within and the kindness around you to keep moving forward.
As the calendar turns, I carry with me immense gratitude, the lessons Iāve learned, and a deep hope for brighter days for all. Let us step into 2025 with open hearts and the courage to embrace the journey ahead.
Wishing you all a New Year filled with love, kindness, and endless possibilities. šļøāØ

There was a time when I was a control freak and wanted everything and everybody to function in a certain way.
Change bothered me immensely.
I was as fragile as a glass, avoiding tough situations or breaking down while facing them.
That’s when serendipity led me to meditation.
It helped, to begin with, to stay calm, reduce my stress and manage my emotions but little did I know that it would have a profound impact on my personal growth by clarifying my raison d’etre.
As I look back, my heart gets filled with hashtag#gratitude for that first step and for that brilliant feeling that kept me going; while it may be #24 years now, practising and teaching meditation I believe that it is just the beginning and the journey continues…..
Glad to be in Bahrain on world meditation day!
Many times, I have found that a single line from a song can hold great significance in life.
One such song is Hotel California and the line that makes me ponder most is –Ā āwe are all prisoners of our own deviceā.
I reflect, on how are we āinnocuouslyā doing this because it is obvious that no one sane in this world would like to give up their freedom, their most valuable possessions for anything.
As we progress in our lives each day, achieving our goals and fulfilling our desires, what is this trap that we may be designing in the bargain?
On one hand, we are becoming dependent on external factors while on the other I begin identifying with things that are temporary.
The sign that I am a prisoner would be seen through my reaction to everything there is a threat of any of these things being taken away from me.
Firstly I begin living in a way that I want to protect and guard these things (which create intense anxiety within) and
Secondly, when they change (a natural law), I go berserk.
Real progress is to become aware of these āgolden chainsā that we are prisoners of and to look them in the eye and say āridiculousā!
The sales battlefield is tougher than ever.
But sometimes, what you need is not more effort; it is sharper tools.
.
Imagine this…
You are in a market where competition is fierce, customers are demanding more, and despite working harder than ever, the results just donāt reflect the effort.
It feels like pushing a boulder uphill, only to see it roll back down.
This is the reality for many businesses today, and the team at SOUQ ALSIRAJ recognized it.
That is where the SalesAcceleratorProgram Workshop came in.
It was not about working harder; it was about working smarter.
It was about sharpening the saw.
Over the course of the session, we focused on:
š§ Identifying hidden potential within the team and the market.
š” Uncovering strategies that were untapped or underutilized.
āļø Shifting the mindset from struggle to strategy;Ā because sales isnāt just about effort; it is about precision.
The transformation was incredible.
By the end of the workshop, the room was not just filled with professionals,Ā it was filled with leaders ready to take on #2024 and step into #2025 with a renewed sense of confidence and purpose.
We realized together:
The market will always be tough. The competition will always grow. But those who thrive are the ones who step back, sharpen their skills, and wield their tools with precision.
As we move into 2025, letās commit to not just working hard, but working smart.
Letās rule the market, not just survive it.
To every professional reading this:
Take the time to reflect.
Where are you spinning your wheels?
What is one thing you can sharpen today that will change the game tomorrow?
Here is to making sharper strategies, smarter moves, and stronger teams.

What a powerful session!
Sometimes, taking a pause is all we need to move forward stronger…
I had the privilege of hosting a StressManagement Session at the stunning RASAlHamra, Muscat. š
We dived deep into:
š§āāļø Techniques to reduce daily stress.
š ļø Tools for building resilience and focus.
š” Strategies to bring more calm and clarity into our lives.
The energy in the room was incredible.
From sharing personalstories to practising mindfulness, it was a reminder of how much we all need moments to reset and refocus.
A favourite takeaway from the session?
The Chairman of the company and the entire leadership team, VicePresidents and senior leaders, didnāt just attend. They actively participated throughout the session.
When leaders step up to address stress, it empowers the entire team to follow suit.
A huge thankyou to the leadership team and everyone who made this session a success.
Let us continue to champion mental well-being together.
Your engagement made this session truly special.
Remember: Taking care of your mental wellbeing is not a luxury; it is a necessity.
Until the next session, letās all take a moment to breathe and prioritize what matters most.
