The pause between a trigger and a response is where real change begins.
In a recent Ecube session on Emotional Intelligence at work at Larsen & Toubro, participants reflected on how emotions quietly shape our reactions, conversations, and decisions at work.
Led by our Emotional Intelligence coach, Riddima Nandan, the session invited participants to slow down and notice their emotional patterns before responding.
Some simple practices that resonated deeply:
✅ Pause before responding, especially in moments of stress or frustration.
✅ Name the emotion instead of suppressing it.
✅ Listen to understand, not to defend.
✅ Respond with clarity and respect, even in difficult conversations.
Through reflections, role-based discussions, and a short visualization exercise, many participants shared how a small pause and a shift in awareness could immediately change the tone of real workplace conversations.
The session closed with clear personal commitments. One habit to build, one trigger to manage, and one behaviour to practice consciously.
At Ecube, we believe emotional intelligence is not about controlling emotions. It is about responding with intention.
